American Luck was
recorded for Days Went Around but wound up not making the album. This boot kicking country romper pokes fun at our Just-Say-No political leaders and the red neck culture they represent. Who said you can't be inspired by the Tea-bots and their ignorance-is-bliss movement. It's all Scott & Brian w/ Dave Braun on drums and Chris Stamey on shred guitar during the bridge. Web only release - free download b/w Mindlessness - Another tune that never could find a home for some reason or another. This song plays a little bit more on the serious side of life, and talks about the hypocrisy and classism that coats our society and the political machine that drives it. It can all drive you a little crazy if you think about it too much. |

Days Went Around

Uncovering the Sun Produced by Walter Salas-Humara (The Silos) The third album from brothers Scott Wooldridge and Brian Wooldridge exemplifies the qualities that have earned them comparisons with artists like the BoDeans, Crowded House, R.E.M., and others -- rootsy pop songs with strong hooks and excellent vocal harmonies. Standout tracks include "Last Man Standing" and "Unbelievable Truth," while songs like the title track, "Disappointing You," and "My New World" are also very affecting.AMG Review |

Star of Desire Building on the jangle-pop tradition R.E.M. instituted back in the '80s, the Wooldridge Brothers turn in a thoroughly appealing debut effort with Star of Desire. The duo concentrates on solid songwriting, garnishing their sturdy songs with violins, acoustic guitars and crisp melodies. They have a strong melodic sense; they write full songs, not just hooks, and their country and folk leanings add depth to their ringing guitar-pop. Ultimately, Star of Desire is a well-crafted record of rootsy pop that only gets better with repeated listens. AMG Review Out now on Media Creature iTunes |

Unreel Hits The Unreel Hits is the first that I have heard of the Wooldridge Brothers and it’s quite surprising. Their sound is kind of a rockabilly / pop sound that has just enough roots injected to be considered roots-rock. Apparently The Wooldridge Brothers have released 3 albums and this is a catch all for songs that they have released that have never made it onto any of their discs. It’s strange that they haven’t got more coverage with songs on Party Of Five, Young and the Restless, and a few movies. The songs are very good quality and display impressive songwriting along with great production and arrangements. They have a great sound and it’s very original and catchy. Their song “Fascism on the Radio” is one of the best Elvis Costello songs that he never wrote. This album is actually worth seeking out.
